A great benefit of a Troubled Teen residential treatment center is that some insurance companies will pay partial tuition. Usually if they do however, they must be accredited with the Joint Hospital Accreditation Committee or J.H.A.C.O. To be J.H.A.C.O. approved there are more requirements that need to be met than just being licensed as a Residential Treatment Center facility. Usually an insurance company will pay for around 30 or 60 days in and Residential Treatment Center type facility.
Residential treatment programs are defined as boarding schools or programs that provide a highly structured environment, an academic component, and group and individual therapy. These programs typically are paid for by the families of attending students and generally last for three to 18 months.
