According to a survey Thirty-four percent of young women become pregnant at least once before they reach the age of 20 in a year. Eight in ten of these teen pregnancies are unintended and 79 percent are to unmarried teens. A recent study has shown they do not have safe sex, and get pregnant, because they do not have full knowledge about sex. The sons of teen mothers are 13 percent more likely to end up in prison while teen daughters are 22 percent more likely to become teen mothers themselves.
As a parent, let your teen know that you take sex seriously, that you are not afraid to talk about it and that you will be there for them no matter what. This is sometimes all that we can do and the good news is that it is often enough.
