Alldredge Academy is a wilderness program for youth at risk and struggling from various health and behavioral problems. It is nationwide program located in Canaan Valley of North Central West Virginia and licensed by North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement. The program is designed to help young boys and girls ages of 13 to 18 suffering from health and behavioral issues.
The goal of the school is to help their students living a healthy and joyful life. They offer the treatment which can help the students to develop healthy coping skills and to achieve personal changes not only for themselves but for others also.
The students accept by the school with the following characteristics:
- Substance abuse
- ADHD
- Bipolar disorder
- Oppositional defiant disorder
- School failure
- Adoption
- Divorce
- Negative peer and family relationships
The programs offer by the school make life- long changes for the students.
There are two phases of programs:
- Wilderness Search and Rescue
- The Mountain Village
The Wilderness Search and Rescue trained the students in First Aid, CPR, and wilderness first-responder-level care. It also provides intensive group and individual counseling to the students.
The Mountain Village program help the students to reflect on their earlier choices, successes and failures while better defining their ideals and beliefs. The program also helps them to build up and practice successful living for their future.
The school also helps their family with immediate support and emotional relief. They provide an individual academic track for every student.

The Alldredge Academy is a very good treatment programs for teenagers. It offers service to those who suffer from drug addiction and other mental and behavioral issues. The students with substance abuse, anxiety, depression, poor school performance, and low self-esteem will get better help from this program. The school tries to give those students a happy and meaningful living. The various programs offer by the school helps the students to get rid of their worries and help them to develop skills to tackle any situation in their lives. They also make them to achieve individual changes for them and for others also. I would say that this program will help the troubled teens to find bright future for them.
