Eckerd Academy is a licensed, accredited residential alternative school and outdoor therapeutic program that aims to help struggling teens to reach their maximum potential and live normal life. This academy is basically for troubled teens in the age group of 10-17 years who are facing emotional, academic, and behavioral problem including issues such as anger, depression, anxiety, ADHD, ODD, negative peer influence etc. The Eckerd Academy has three campuses in Florida, Georgia, and Tennessee. With the programs offered by them, students become more responsible and learn how to respect themselves and their family members.
There programs include individual, group as well as family counseling, life skills training, social skills training, workshop for parents, college preparatory and follow up. Their programs require full involvement of the families for the child to recover well. They are not biased in taking decisions among students on the basis of color, caste etc. but have certain rules and eligibility criteria for the students during the admission. The Eckerd Academy helps parents to find good resources for their troubled teens. The academy realizes the situation the parents face to deal with serious problems that their teens face. The academy offers financial option to the struggling teens including low cost educational loan and insurance reimbursement.
