Located in a large, beautiful rural Suffolk, VA, Hampton Roads Youth Center is serving young struggling boys and girls in the age group of 12 to 17 years who are facing emotional, social, and family problems. It is a private, non-profit residential program dedicated to provide resources to youths at-risk and their families in crisis. They enroll and 9 boys and 9 girls at a time and provide them treatment. The average length of stay in their programs varies from nine to eighteen months. The center offers Jr. School, a library, a dining hall, basketball court and several other facilities.

The teachers and the staff members are licensed and certified and offer quality education to their students. Students are under constant supervision of teachers and student to teacher ratio is kept small i.e. 1:6 so that each individual is given due attention. They get individual educational plan. Students earn credit towards their high school diploma. The center offers encouraging therapeutic atmosphere with individual, group, and family counseling and therapy. The residents of HRYC have full privilege to enjoy he recreational activities such as swimming, hiking, and special events so that they develop a sense of sportsmanship. The students get opportunity to explore themselves and their strengths; they are even allowed to share their goals with their friends and other work by forming a group so as to develop team building.

Message to Parents: It is a good and highly dedicated center for transforming lives of struggling teens and their parents. They pay emphasis on education as well as other recreational activities. Therapeutics plays a great role in their programs. The highly qualified team of professionals work hard to get back the struggling teens on track. They have strict admission procedure and do not enroll students who are violent, drug addicts or involved in any criminal activity. It is possible to make donations in any form and these are tax-deductible.
