John Dewey is a college preparatory boarding school for teenagers having the behavioral and other personal problems, founded in 1985 by Dr. Thomas E. Bratter. The school provides fostering and caring atmosphere where students can feel themselves secure.
Instead of trying to medicate a student's feelings of shame, despair, and anxiety, we address the underlying causes of these emotions.
The mission of the school is to provide thorough, personal teaching and therapy to alienated, annoyed, self-destructive, but bright teenagers. And this will help the students encouraging them to use their talents rather than to continuing abusing.
The main aim of the school is renovate hope, to reconstruct family relations, and to change students' lives.
The treatment programs offer by the school is to give emotional, ethical and spiritual development of the students.
The student here will be taught:
-Accept responsibility for attitudes and acts.
-Learn to use innate potential and talent.
-Develop a positive concept of self and a proactive philosophy of life.
-Take control of his/her life by becoming independent.
