Marbridge is a foundation that provides residential care, education, and treatment to adults facing fatal challenges in life. It is located just 12 miles south of the state capitol in Austin, Texas. It offers safe, nurturing, and spiritual environment. The program helps the students to set their own goals and makes them independent in making choices and decisions. It has more than 220 adults that are living within the campus but are divided into three segments. This population has more than 50% men and rest women, both in the age group of 18 to 80 years.
Marbridge is approved by Texas Rehabilitation Commission and is licensed by Texas department of Aging and Disabilities. Marbridge is a 54 years old foundation dedicated to serve adults with cognitive challenges. They give a wide variety of training opportunities to its residents in their abilities training program. It provides a safe community where each student has to interact in the community. The facilities provided to them include pool, a gym, computer labs, greenery etc. The residents are divided in three segments namely:
- The Village at Marbridge
- The Ranch at Marbridge
- The Villa at Marbridge
The village offers highest level of independence compared to ranch and the villa. The village accommodates 67 residents whereas the ranch accommodates 81 residents. The residents of village are employed in Austin and those of ranch are employed in campus itself. The villa has good nursing facility compared to village and ranch and it also offers therapy such as physical therapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy to the residents.
