The New Dominion School is Outdoor Therapeutic Wilderness program for young girls and boys located on 550 wooded acres 60 miles west of Richmond. The program is designed to help those having emotional and behavioral difficulties in the community settings and at home.
The program is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, the Virginia Association of Independent Specialized Education Facilities (VAISEF), and the National Association of Therapeutic Wilderness Camps.
The school offers a unique combination of group therapy and healing techniques along with practical adventure-based outdoor services and activities.
The philosophy of the School is by using the Positive Peer group model and the group process problem solving model to help the students take optimistic control of their lives, understand their self-esteem, and build up the self self-reliance and inspiration to achieve something both communally and academically.
They arrange group meetings where students can process their performance and gain knowledge of suitable alternative solutions. The students will be participating in addiction recovery, abuse recovery and family groups.
The school has well trained and experienced staff including counselor. The staff is very caring and loving and guiding and facilitating the students for emotional development.
They also help the students for truthful relations, build up encouraging self-esteem and a together toward common goals.

New Dominion School of Virginia is serving the society for 28 years by giving quality education to troubled teens. School prepares their students for the future challenges. This center provides two separate program one for girls and other for boys. Duration of the therapeutic program is one year. Students learn life skills during the program.
