Rancho Valmora is a non- profitable inhabited treatment center and school for teenagers between the ages of 12 and 18 on the front-range of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains in northern New Mexico. It is licensed by the New Mexico Children, Youth and Families Department as a Residential Treatment Center.
The school is provided services for teenagers’ ages of 12 to 18 years males and females having the problems with educational and emotional behaviors. These programs comprise difficulty in family and/or peer relationships, mood, disorders, externalizing disorders such as attention deficit, hyperactivity and oppositional defiant disorders, substance/alcohol abuse related disorders, and personality disorders.
The students here have also experienced setbacks and problems in school and may quality for special education assessment or services.
The students have the following characteristics can be the part of the school:
-Inability to establish and maintain positive relationships
-Low self-esteem or self-worth
-Acting out and defiant behaviors
-Poor relationships with family members
-Affiliation with negative peer groups
-Substance and alcohol abuse
-Mood-associated behaviors
The school provides an entirely integrated healing and practical atmosphere conducted within the outline of encouraging peer culture, a values-based and process-oriented model utilizing a system of cognitive strategies and interventions.

The treatment team actively develops individual and group strategies and interventions that challenge student’s distorted thinking patterns based on negative behaviors and values. The staff here believes that excellence in teaching is achieved through a variety of skills, such as superior knowledge of the content area, classroom management and organization, class preparation and instructional methods.

The Rancho Valmora is not aimed for profit but to provide treatment to teenagers’ ages of 12 to 18. It tries to help the teenagers having the problems of educational and emotional behavior , drug addicts, comprise difficulty in family and/or peer relationships, mood, disorders, externalizing disorders such as attention deficit, hyperactivity and oppositional defiant disorders and many more. The school tries to make them understand about their responsibilities. The entirely integrated therapeutic and practical atmosphere helps the students to come out from the difficulties.
The students here are learning to serve their peer and to make meaningful role and responsibility in helping others. The Rancho Valmora tries to give their students long- term positive change. This is the best place for the students to be free from problems and make their lives more energetic and beautiful.
