Scar/Jasper Mountain is a private non-profit agency that is working with a mission to stop child abuse and all its forms. It is located on a mountain, fifteen miles southeast of Eugene, Oregon. It deals with struggling teens, who are failing in school, facing traumatic life experiences, attachment disorder, and out-of-control teen. It was established in 1982 and since then it is providing a challenging and nurturing environment to troubled teens to restore well.
The programs they offer include combined traditional psychological and psychiatric interventions with innovative approach that help unmotivated teens. Scar/Jasper Mountain is a group home for disturbed teens and their families. It keeps them in a safe atmosphere with utmost support and care for the teens to cope up with their life problems. Their programs require full support from the family also. That is, the family plays a key role in the healing process of troubled teen problems. Therefore, their treatment problems include individual, group as well as family therapy. They offer effective programs that help struggling to know about themselves, their strengths and weaknesses and help teens to grow emotionally, spiritually, and intellectually. Some of these programs are treatment foster care program, SAFE crisis Respite, village program, Jasper Mountain School etc. There are some other programs that are specially designed preteens and their families. The details about the symptoms and warning signs help parents to know about their children who are facing abuse (physical, mental, sexual) problem.
