Shadow Mountain Academy is a rehabilitation center for young men located in the mountains of Northern New Mexico. They are dedicated to serve young men suffering from drug and alcohol abuse as well associated behavioral health issues. They also try to provide real solutions for those young men transitioning into a life of sobriety. The desire of the academy is to see young men fully integrate the skills and revival tools into their daily survival. They also aim to offer prolific ground and a healthy, caring atmosphere for sustainable growth and change so that destructive patterns are replaced with healthy passions, showing young men the rewards of a full and productive life without the constraints of unhealthy diversion through substance abuse.
The academy offer 12-steps process of recovery. This process leads the students towards real lifestyle choices, morally and meaningful social interaction. They offer to continue the therapeutic process for the student who has completed a primary treatment program for substance abuse. The student must entrust to minimum of 90 days to expand upon the knowledge gained in their previous treatment experience. They believe that the disease of the addiction impacts not only the addicts but the persons related to the addicts and the whole family.
The academy plays a vital role in the involvement of the family in the recovery process of the addict. They teach the family how to take responsibility for their health and happiness and also try to educate, empower and guide them by the way of the family assessment and the family workshop.
