Shelter Care helps troubled teens offering them residential treatment and other programs to make them successful. It admits the teens from ten years to eighteen years who are facing emotional, behavioral and social problems. In the services, it also includes educating and employment opportunities, group counseling, and recreation, medical and psychological care under the guidance of experienced professionals. In its shelter home program, it offers long-term residential treatment and the shelter homes programs are guided by experienced staffs. In this process, teenagers are supported by therapists and case managers.
Children service agencies also send the children to Shelter Homes where both referring agencies and Shelter Care screen the cases carefully in make sure the better placement. The period of staying in the shelter home depends upon the cases it may be from six months to two years. It also provide short-term care in a safe environment, the programs are handled by a professional staff model with qualified persons having experience of different aspects of troubled teens. Additionally, the intermediate and long-term program is offered through a group of shelter homes.
Apart from all those programs, weekly counseling is also run; it is a family counseling session with the parents and teens that live in the shelter home known as main part of the program. In counseling programs, both children and parents can participate where parents are offered bi-weekly parenting skills training sessions. Consequently, all additional support are provided to the children in these programs.
