Wilderness Odyssey is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that uses the natural environment along with research-based therapeutic techniques to help 13-17 year olds and their families who are struggling with a variety of emotional and behavioral issues. The key to our success is not just in the wilderness setting, but in our ability to draw on the lessons learned from nature to promote healthy choices in the home setting.
42 Day Therapeutic Program
Wilderness Odyssey’s Adolescent Adventure Based Therapy program is a success-based 42 day program dedicated to creating emotional growth through adventure based therapy. It utilizes a combination of the natural environment and traditional therapeutic techniques to foster healing and growth in youth and families who are struggling with a variety of issues.
Family Odyssey
The therapeutically based family program specializes in teaching safe, effective strategies for improving communication and creating healthy families. Families spend a week camping with our trained staff while working one on one with a therapist to develop new tools to promote open and honest family relationships.
Leadership Programs
In today’s world it takes an innovative kind of leadership, one that can effectively lead across geographies and in a variety of cultures. Adaptability is essential. Wilderness Odyssey’s Leadership program creates opportunities and challenges for high-potential at-risk and mainstream youth who would not otherwise have the chance to test and prove themselves.
