My 16 year old son is experiencing concentration disorders from last some months. He doesn’t concentrate on studies. I don’t’ know whether he is doing this willingly or he is suffering from some serious problem. Whenever I asked to him about this he don’t give proper answer. What should I do to regain his interest in studies?


Such type of problems arises in teenagers and youngsters most often. It is not serious problems to get worry on but yes you have to take care of your son very genuinely. You can use home treatments like meditation and yoga. These are special treatment which can help your child to regain his lost confidence.

Academic pressure can be reason behind your son concentration problems. Is he was intelligent in his previous time? If yes then you have to talk to his school teachers about his performance. You can take guidance from psychologists who can easily deal in such teenagers’ matters.

I think your son is struggling with some sort of depression and stress problem. You said that he is not able to concentrate on studies, so he might have some sort of trouble in his love relationship. Your responsibility is to get him treated through the specialist therapists and counselors and always encourage him in studies.

In order to treat your son do I thing, arrange some picnics and trips for him, so that he could feels energetic and refresh. As we know that parents are the only one, who could guide to their children very perfectly. So you try to spend as much time with your son and always motivate him for performing better in studies and in other programs also.

I don’t think that he is doing it willingly as nobody wants to fail in life. It may be a result of some tension or pressure of studies due to which he is unable to concentrate on studies. You must take the help of a good psychologist and try to find out the reason. Encourage him to study and perform better. In addition to this you should also encourage him to take part in some creative activities. This will certainly help him.
