Hello, my name is Sarah. I have a daughter of 14 years old. She used to be a really sweet and friendly girl but since few months I have seen that she has this tendency of staying away from me, my husband and even her friends. She has become very quiet and enjoys being lonely. I tried to speak to her about it many times but she says that she is good this way. Please tell me what to do and how to deal with this kind of problems?

Hello Sarah. Fourteen is an age when teens starting using their own brains and stop listening to their parents. So it won’t be effective to speak to her in a direct way. I would suggest you to spend more time with her by taking her out for a movie, for a good meal in a restaurant or even play games. This way both of you will spend time together and she might start enjoying again your company. A second reason might be that at this age your body starts changing. She might be disturbed by these changes so I would suggest you to explain her, what is happening to her.
