I am seeking for proper treatment for my child. He is 18 years old and in 12th class. After the breakup with his girlfriend, he is depressed. His friends also said that he is not concentrating in studies. Few days ago, he tried suicide. I am scared that may be he can take this step again. I am working woman and can’t live with him all time. Please help me.

Parenting such teens is not at all easy. Help your child by talking to him freely. Help him to cope up his past relationships with his girlfriend by making him indulged in the activities that interest him. Take an experts advice as they will definitely guide you in a better manner.

Working parents find it difficult to handle such teens. The boarding schools, residential treatment centers give proper care and attention to such teens. Apart from treatment, they focus on academics as well. Fetch a good program for your child according to his problem. This will definitely be of great help.

I think this is a common problem in the teen level. He is in long depression. There are so many ways to reduce our depression. Make him to use all the ways to reduce his misery by guiding him to join in a work that gives great help in forgetting his bad memories and as well as a way to his career. He would involve in his work and forget all his misery past.

I think this is a heart breaking situation and he doesn’t want to concentrate on any thing. This is understandable but these are all part of life. I would agree with one of our friend’s opinion. I think join him in any sports or take him to a new place or any different activity that would change his way of thinking and know how important is to live.

Your child is facing a major problem. After his breakup with his girlfriend he is alone and his loneliness is killing him from inside. You must talk to him about his condition because in this condition he can again attempt to commit suicide. Take him to some other place for holidays, he will definitely feel relax.

Breakup is a big shock for a person, and your son is also facing this shock. You must tell him not to think about his breakup because the more he thinks about his breakup, the more pain he will feel and tell him to concentrate on his studies. As you wrote, he attempted to commit suicide, so don’t let him alone and try to keep him busy.

Hello. I can understand your child’s depression. Try to understand his feelings. You have to help him to get out from this situation. Don’t let him alone. You are the parents and you can easily understand his situation. You have to convince him that life can’t stop by this. His way is not right. This is not a solution of his problem.

If your teen is in deep depression, you can’t help him. He has to take help from psychiatrist or counselor. You have to keep a very friendly nature with your teen and help him at every step. Don’t ignore him and give time to him as much as possible. Good parenting is must in such types of situations.

Your son is facing a difficult situation of his life. Only you can help him at this time. All you have to do is to give him love and care. Give proper attention to his feelings. Take help of a good psychiatrist if it doesn’t solve the problem. You can also send him to a good summer camp where he would be engaged in creative activities and it would help him to forget about his break up.
