Kew is situated in state Victoria. It is an inhabited district of Melbourne and is located in the Local Government area of the city Boroondara. It is bordered by Yarra River to the west and north, Hawthorn to south and Balwyn to its east.
Kew is formed after a decision by a Victorian Local Government Commissioner in 1994 to amalgamate the individual municipalities of Camberwell, Hawthorn and Kew under the City of Booroondara banner formed a formidable residential bloc.
It is well connected to other parts of the country. The tram and bus facility is available in Kew. Kew is a very expensive place. The price of house in Kew is twice of the Melbourne. There is abundant parkland in the suburb including Yarra Bend and Studley parks.
Kew is endowed with parkland in which spacious Yarra Bend and Studley parks are the standouts.

There has a Sports Centre with facilities to play soccer, cricket, netball, field hockey, Australian Rules football, and a shooting range. Near to the Sports Centre there is the Nursery and Community Centre.
