North Ryde is situated in state New South Wales in Australia. It is an inhabited district of Sydney and located in north of Sydney. It is located approximately 17 km from the Sydney CBD in the City of Ryde; nearby suburbs include Epping, East Ryde, Eastwood, Pymble, Chatswood, Lane Cove and Marsfield.
It is part of the region of Lower North Shore, the state electorates of Lane Cove and Ryde and the federal electorate of Division of Bennelong. North Ryde is a business area as well as residential area. It is established in 19th century.
There is good facility of education. Many primary and secondary schools are situated in North Ryde. Macquarie University is situated in this area. The North Ryde Post Office at Cox Road was opened in 1885. Main farming activity included orchards, market gardens and poultry is available here.
An Army Vehicle Park was located in North Ryde, bounded by Epping, Wicks, Cox and Blenheim Roads. A pig farm was located in Wicks Road and was operational until the late 1960s.
North Ryde is well connected to other parts of the country via road. The primary mode of transportation in this area is the private car. The railway facility will be started in North Ryde in 2008.
