North Sydney is situated in the state New South Wales. It is an inhabited district of Local Government area of North Sydney Council on the North shore of Sydney. It is located three kilometers far from central business district of Sydney. It is a commercial center across the Sydney Harbour Bridge in Sydney.

North Sydney has limited shopping facilities. There are no department stores, only two medium sized supermarkets, and almost no Sunday trading. There is good education facility available. There are many primary and secondary schools situated in North Sydney. The Australian Catholic University provides education here.
The surrounding districts of North Sydney are Crows Nest, Wollstonecraft, Waverton, Neutral Bay, McMahons Point, Kirribilli, Cremorne and Cammeray.
Sydney Harbour Bridge and tunnel virtually make the North Sydney commercial centre an extension of the city CBD. Within the concrete and glass jungle, however, boutique stores and fine restaurants add the human touch to North Sydney.
North Sydney has a large number of cafes, restaurants, pubs, club and several discos. It dies on weekends apart from a few restaurants and pubs which are supported by nearby residents.
North Sydney is well connected to other parts of the country via rail and road. The nearest airport is located in Sydney through which it is connected with the other countries.
