Preston is a hub for connecting rail services in the North West, with direct services to Blackpool, Lancaster, Blackburn, Bradford, Leeds, Wigan, Bolton, Manchester and Liverpool.
Preston is also served by many national bus services. Stagecoach Express, National Express, Eurolines, and Megabus all have a large presence at Preston bus station.
The city is home to the University of Central Lancashire, Other higher education institutes are Preston College, Runshaw College, Cardinal Newman College, Stonyhurst College, Stonyhurst College, Alston Hall College and TUC Education Unit.
